Exhibition: "Sacred and secular scenes. The fabric of Małgorzata Pepłowska ".
From 14 June 2018 in the Museum of Hunting and Horse-riding in Royal Łazienki Park, the exhibition "Sacred and secular scenes. The fabric of Małgorzata Pepłowska ".
The author of fabrics, Ms. Małgorzata Pepłowska, an inhabitant of the village of Ruchna in the Węgrów poviat, is one of the most famous folk artists of Podlasie (in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship). The artist is one of the few who can weave decorative two-carved carpets, which will be presented at the exhibition. Weavers learned in the Cooperative of People's and Artists' Handicrafts in Węgrów. In addition, it specializes in making Christmas decorations with colorful wafers, making flowers from tissue paper and making ceremonial props such as Easter palms. Recently, Małgorzata has her own studio next to the house, where she works and runs workshops.
The author takes part in numerous local and provincial events, competitions, participates in exhibitions, and her works are in museum collections in Poland and abroad.
The work of Mrs. Małgorzata Pepłowska refers to traditional disciplines of regional artistic creativity, for which she was honored with such distinctions as: the Award of the Marshal of the Masovian Voivodeship, the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage "For special merits in the dissemination of folk culture", prize for them. Oskar Kolberg "For merits for folk culture".
A cycle of textiles depicting biblical scenes was realized as part of the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
The exhibition can be viewed until the 15 of July in the temporary exhibition hall of the Museum of Hunting and Horsemanship - Branch of the Royal Łazienki Museum.
The exhibition is organized by the National Center for Culture.
