"Grab the Poster" - this is the title of a special AMS campaign in which, for the first time in history, posters awarded at the International Poster Biennale were exposed in the urban space. In addition, at the stops you can listen to the verdict of the Jury, learn about the author of the poster and take part in the competition.
Seven posters awarded at this year's 26. You can watch the International Poster Biennale in Premium Citylights in July, in stop shelters and AMS advertising poles in Warsaw. At selected stops, thanks to the built-in mp3 players, using your own headphones, you can listen to the justification of the Jury's verdict and learn about the author of the poster. Information is also available on the specially prepared competition website www.przygarnijplakat.pl.
The campaign is accompanied by a competition of the same title, in which Internet users and recipients of works have a chance to get one of them. All they need to do is photograph the bus shelter with the selected poster or their own wall, where they want to hang it and justify why the poster should be hit. The prizes in the competition are cultural packages from its organizers - AMS and ASP - and selected posters in the B1 format.
- Poster Biennale has always been a window to the world for Polish artists, an opportunity to learn about the world's trends and directions of development of this art. The awarded works could only be seen at the exhibitions accompanying this event - says prof. Lech Majewski, President of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. - In this year's edition, thanks to cooperation with AMS, we go out with the works to a wide audience, hoping that the poster will arouse emotions, intrigue or encourage us to embrace it permanently - he adds.
The campaign #PrzygarnijPlakat promotes 9 that has been in progress since 26 June in Warsaw. International Poster Biennale - the oldest and one of the most recognizable artistic events dedicated to the poster. This year's edition was attended by 236 artists from around the world. Seven posters were awarded, which can be seen on the streets of the capital and on exhibitions at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 5 (entrance from Traugutta street).
One of the events accompanying the Biennale is an exhibition of selected works from eighteen competitions at the AMS Poster Gallery, which can be viewed at the University Library in Warsaw.
The organizer of 26. The International Poster Biennale is the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the co-organizers are AMS, the Association of Graphic Designers and the Poster Museum in Wilanów.
